How to Report a User — Chemoji™

How to Report a User

At Chemoji, user safety and trust are our highest priorities. We provide clear, accessible tools that allow all members to report inappropriate behavior quickly and effectively. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and handled in accordance with our zero-tolerance safety policies.

When You Should Report a User

You should report a user if you experience or observe any of the following:

  • Harassment, threats, or hate speech
  • Sexual misconduct or inappropriate messages
  • Fraud, scams, or impersonation
  • Solicitation, payment requests, or external links intended to deceive
  • Spam, bots, or fake profiles
  • Any behavior that violates our Terms of Service or community standards
If something feels unsafe or suspicious, we encourage you to report it immediately.

How to Report a User

Chemoji makes reporting easy and accessible at the point of interaction.

1. Reporting from a User Profile (Primary Method) Fastest option
  • Visit the user’s public profile
  • Click the Report User button located next to Block User
  • Select the reason for the report and submit
This option is available on every user profile and does not require multiple steps.
2. Reporting from Messages or Chat Where issues happen most
  • Open the conversation with the user
  • Click the Report User option located in the chat menu
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your report
Reporting within messages helps us address inappropriate behavior where it most commonly occurs.
3. Reporting from the Website Footer Access anytime
  • Scroll to the footer on any page
  • Click Report Abuse
  • Follow the reporting instructions
This option ensures reporting access even if you are logged out, blocked, or unable to view a profile.

What Happens After You Submit a Report

  • Reports are reviewed by our moderation team
  • Appropriate action may include warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account removal
  • Serious violations may result in immediate account termination
  • We investigate reports promptly and confidentially

For privacy and safety reasons, we do not disclose the outcome of individual reports.

Blocking vs. Reporting

  • Block User prevents further interaction
  • Report User alerts our moderation team to policy violations
Blocking alone does not notify moderators. If a user violates our rules, reporting is strongly encouraged.

Zero-Tolerance Policy

Chemoji enforces a zero-tolerance policy for:

  • Abuse or harassment
  • Sexual exploitation
  • Fraud or financial scams
  • Impersonation or deceptive activity
Accounts found in violation may be removed without notice.
